Ohio becomes a biomanufacturing hub as workforce grows
Published: Fri Jan 16 2026
Biomanufacturing is experiencing a historic surge—hundreds of billions of dollars have been invested in the United States since January 2025—and industry experts predict this spike will continue. Ohio, home to the third-largest manufacturing workforce in the U.S., has emerged as a central hub for life sciences companies seeking to grow and expand their operations. Over the past decade, Abbott Nutrition, Amgen and Resilience have expanded their operations in Ohio, contributing to approximately 27,000 new healthcare jobs within the state, as reported by JobsOhio, the state’s economic development corporation.
